Donor Spotlight – Paul Conroy Foundation

On Wednesday, October 4, 2017 the Paul Conroy Foundation held its 17th Annual Golf Outing at Lido Beach Country Club. This fundraising event, sponsored by the Conroy family, is their way of giving back to the community, in memory of their brother Paul.

The Paul Conroy Foundation was established to support a variety of charitable causes. The foundation is named for an extraordinary young man that passed away long before he realized his full potential. Paul Conroy was born in Merrick, NY, and was a 1976 graduate of Calhoun High School. Unfortunately, Paul lost his life in a tragic accident before beginning college. However, in his short life, Paul Conroy demonstrated to his family, friends, and team members the importance of hard work, loyalty and compassion. The Paul Conroy Foundation seeks to continue to perform good deeds in his name and, to that end, has donated thousands of dollars for college scholarships, sports equipment student athletes of Calhoun High School, cancer research, programs serving children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities, canine assistance for physically disabled children and numerous other charities.

This year, the Paul Conroy Foundation named the Life’s WORC Family Center for Autism as one of the charities to benefit from its annual golf outing. The Conroy family donated a very generous check to Family Center in order to provide needed services to families with a loved one diagnosed with Autism. Steve Conroy stated “On behalf of the entire Conroy family, and in my brother Paul’s name, we donate these funds so that people with Autism can live a fulfilled and happy life.” The Life’s WORC family Center for Autism is fortunate to have such caring donors as the Conroy family, and we are thankful for their generous gift.
