Michael Huseby Honored As Man of the Year

The Night of A Million Lights Gala was held on Wednesday, December 2nd at Park 585, an elegant event venue in Manhattan.  The Gala was a joint fundraiser to raise much needed funds for the Life’s WORC Family Center for Autism (FCA) and Quality Services for the Autism Community (QSAC).

Thanks to Life’s WORC/FCA Board Member Kanuj Malhotra – Barnes & Noble Education, Michael  Huseby was the Honoree.  Mr. Huseby is the Executive Chairman of Barnes & Noble Education.  He formerly served as CEO of Barnes & Noble, Inc.  As a result of Michael’s efforts, with help from Kanuj and Life’s WORC/FCA Co-Chair Rick DelMastro, the event attracted prominent national business leaders including Alan Shwartz of Guggenheim Partners. Len Riggio former Chair of Barnes & Noble plus executives from KPMG (event sponsor), Charter Communications, Barnes & Noble and Cravath, Swaine & Moore.

The Night of a Million Lights Gala attracted over 450 people attended the event and raised $650,000.  John Donvan served as Master of Ceremonies. He is co-author of – In A Different  Key: The Story of Autism – which is being released in January, 2016.  John  is also a contributing correspondent to ABC Nes where, in his three decade career he served as Chief White House Correspondent.

The Gala concluded with a medley of songs sung by Marissa Ann Rizzitello who introduced – Then One Day – a song written and performed by Marissa Ann for the benefit of the FCA
